A perfect dream come true. Los Angeles-based musician UMI takes StyleCaster behind the scenes while getting ready to open for Jhené Aiko in Oakland, California.
Right when UMI hits the stage, you can feel the energy shift into a welcoming and calm aura. UMI connects with the audience like no other—with guided meditations and positive affirmations. “You see people shed layers at the shows,” UMI explained. “Every time I perform, I see it as an opportunity to heal people and hopefully touch their souls.” And with the upcoming release of her new EP talking to the wind, she’s bound to project her glowing and invigorating vibes in her songs which touch upon both English and Japanese lyrics.
At the second arena she’s ever performed, UMI gushed about opening for one of her inspirations. “Jhené Aiko has been the sound track of my adolescence,” she reflected. “To have been able to open up for her was a confirmation that I’m on the right path – and that I am attracting to me people & opportunities that uplift me!” Without further ado, check out UMI’s Tour Diary above or below!
