The stars have spoken. Many pop culture aficionados have a persuasive case that Justin Bieber cheated on Selena Gomez with Hailey Bieber, but the AstroTwins, Tali and Ophi Edut, say otherwise.

Our astrology pals The AstroTwins analyzed Justin, Selena, and Hailey’s birth charts to see how compatible each couple is. Justin made things official around September 2010 and made things public in February 2011 when they walked down the red carpet of the Vanity Fair Oscar party. They later broke up in November 2012 due to their crazy schedules. They briefly reunited in 2014 and broke up again in 2017, when Justin proposed to Hailey Bieber a week after they officially called it splits.

Did Justin Bieber cheat on Selena Gomez with Hailey Bieber? It doesn’t appear so but the AstroTwins explained why things might’ve gotten a bit… muddy.

Ophi explained where they’re compatible at the surface level. “They’re highly compatible as sun signs,” she said. “He’s a Pisces, she’s a Cancer; two water signs. However, underneath the surface, there’s a lot more going on in that sea.” Interestingly, it’s their moon signs—which tend to form the basis of our relationships and bonding—where Selena and Justin diverge.

Tali explained: “Selena has a fiery Aries moon that needs a lot of attention and Justin is a cool and breezy Libra moon, which is an air sign. He wants companionship, she needs to be told over and over again why she’s special. She needs to be adored and she needs constant reinforcement of that.”

Meanwhile Justin “just wants to chill together,” Tali continued. “For him, romance is just being next to each other, having that comfortable silence.” Ophi said their clashes didn’t stop there. “Their Venus signs are also an issue. Hers is a Leo, another attention-loving fire sign, while his is a Pisces, which is about chilling, out and romantically escaping. So their astrological love languages aren’t exactly compatible. She wants to be romanced, courted, shown all the full fireworks, and have him pull out all the stops. That’s just not how he’s made. He might even seem a little lazy, but he definitely wants to chill and just be in that bonding connection and that is never going to be enough for Selena with her chart.”

Though the cheating rumors have been resolved, Tali and Ophi explained why it seemed like there was a love triangle in the public sphere. “Well, with Venus and Pisces and that watery fluidity, one relationship can spill into the next, whereas, for her with Venus and Leo, the sign of drama. It’s act one act two, curtain call, cut.”

Hailey officially shut down the cheating rumors in an appearance on Call Her Daddy in September 2022. “When him and I ever started, like, hooking up or anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship ever — at any point,” she explained. “I’m not interested in doing that and I never was. … I can say — period, point blank — I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody,”  Hailey said on “Call Her Daddy.” She continued, “It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship.” Hailey added that she could “understand” how her and Justin’s relationship could look different “from the outside.”

She continued, “That was a situation where I know for a fact that it was the right thing for them to close that door. They were not in a relationship at that time, but of course, there’s a very long history there. … It has nothing to do with me. I know that it closed a chapter and I think it was the best thing that could have happened for him to move on and be engaged and get married and move on with his life in that way.”

Hailey also revealed during the podcast that she and Selena have spoken since she married Justin. “That’s why I’m like, it’s all respect, it’s all love,” she said. “That’s also why I feel like if everybody on our side knows what happened and we’re good and we could walk away from it with clarity and respect then that’s fine. … Which had brought me a lot of peace and I’m like, ‘We know what happened it is what it is.’ You’re never going to be able to correct every narrative.”

Hailey also responded to claims she “stole” Justin from Selena. “This is so crazy, I’ve literally never talked about this ever,” she said. “A lot of the hate and perpetuation comes from [people thinking], like, ‘Oh, you stole him.’ It’s about people knowing the truth. Because there’s a truth.”She continued, “It just comes from, like, the fact that they wished he had ended up with someone else, and that’s fine,” she said. “Like, you can wish that all you want but that’s just not the case.” She also claimed that Justin was also hurt by the comparisons between her and Selena. “I know that for him that’s hurtful because if we have moved on, why can’t you?” she said.
