Rihanna’s blonde hair might’ve been a huge departure from her signature dark brown, but she just completely reinvented her look yet again. Although we were big fans of the blonde, Rihanna’s pink hair comes right before her long-awaited 2024 Met Gala appearance—and it has us excited for what’s to come. After waiting so long for pastel Rihanna to return, our prayers have been answered, and her new pink hair looks straight out of our 2014 Tumblr moodboards.
Rihanna’s pink hair first made an appearance in 2014, when she rocked a bubblegum pink pixie cut that had fans in a chokehold. From her 2010 fiery red hair (which paved the way for Dua Lipa’s cherry red hair—just saying) to her previous Hannah Montana blonde hair, Rihanna has a history of keeping us on our toes. And while those looks are forever ingrained in our minds, this new hair is unlike anything we’ve seen from her before.
Yesterday at A$AP Rocky’s collab launch with Puma, Rihanna served My Little Pony realness with her bright pink hair. After delivering so many colorful short hair looks over the years, we finally got to see long pink hair on Rihanna. Like her pink pixie cut, this new color is also baby pink but in a more neon shade. Paired with a sleek all-black outfit, Rihanna’s candy-colored hair has us contemplating going pastel this summer too.
After Kim Kardashian also went pink, one thing is clear—pink girls have more fun. The Tumblr renaissance is upon us, and with so many celebrities going pastel, we have endless hair inspo to aspire to. Not to mention, with the 2024 Met Gala hours away, who knows which stars will show up with bubblegum pink hair? Since Rihanna’s pink hair already debuted at Rocky’s launch yesterday, who’s to say if she’ll pull off another big hair change before walking the carpet.
