I’m always looking for easy, no-fuss ways to enhance my living space and while I’m a huge fan of a feature wall, I’ve never actually had the guts nor the motivation to do anything about it. Painting wasn’t really an option because I didn’t want the mess, drying time, or have to move my furniture. Enter Spoonflower, a home design brand that specializes in unique and high-quality wallpaper.
First and foremost, the variety of designs available on Spoonflower’s website is absolutely staggering; 794 to be exact (at time of writing). Whether you’re into minimalist geometrics, lush botanicals, or whimsical patterns, you’re guaranteed to find something that suits your aesthetic. Spoonflower is most known for its wallpaper offerings (pre-pasted and peel and stick, along with various finishes like grasspaper and metallic), it also has other interior design offerings, like throw pillows, dining table accessories (such as napkins and place settings), bedding, and more. It’s basically a one-stop-shop for super curated, original interior design and decor, and it really aims to make spaces feel more special.
For the purpose of this review, though, I just focused on Spoonflower’s bread and butter: Its gorgeous peel and stick wallpaper — a dream for renters or folks who want to add a splash of personality to their walls without the commitment (or work).
For me, my apartment is a mixture of mid-century modern (so original, I know) in a classical, pre-war setting. I have a lot of neutrally colored furniture, so I wanted to create a feature wall in my bedroom. The green and black William Morris, Antiqued Pimpernel Original design really appealed to me because it felt sophisticated and a little bit Renaissance-y (the Middle Ages cultural movement, not the Beyoncé era, FYI). Their best-sellers include the super fun Bazaar Cosmic Alligator, Large-Scale Alien Abduction Toile De Jouy, the calming Zen On Cloud print, and Little Swimmers.

The application process is where Spoonflower truly shines. Let me preface this next part by saying I was never good at wrapping my schoolbooks in contact paper because bubbles would inevitably ensue, and my Virgo perfectionism would let itself be known.
Unlike traditional wallpaper, which often requires messy adhesives and professional installation, Spoonflower offers a peel-and-stick application, meaning it’s totally hassle-free. It’s repositionable, too, so if I didn’t get a line quite right, I could simply peel the wallpaper back and make adjustments. I cannot overstate how easy it all was and while I’d say the trickiest part, especially for the rather intricate print I chose, was getting the panels to line up, I would say this was a minor challenge. The total time I spent on this project was less than an hour.
Durability is another key factor to consider, and I was pleasantly surprised by Spoonflower’s quality here. You can really feel that as soon as you take the rolls out of the box; it’s undoubtedly heavy-duty. It’s resistant to tears, wrinkles, and fading, ensuring that your investment will stand the test of time. It’s also really easy to clean; all you need is a damp cloth, so it’ll tolerate high-trafficked areas like kitchens and bathrooms.
Another standout feature of Spoonflower is its commitment to sustainability. That gets a big tick from me. Unlike traditional wallpaper, which often contains harmful chemicals and contributes to landfill, Spoonflower is PVC-free and printed on demand to keep waste to a minimum. They also support emerging and independent artists who earn royalties whenever you purchase one of their designs.
Now to the price. While it’s certainly not the cheapest wallpaper on the market, to summarize all the points I mentioned above, you’re certainly getting a high-quality, easy-to-install, and sustainable product. That, for me, is worth every penny (and it’s cheaper than getting wallpaper professionally installed).
So that’s it. In a very short time, I was able to totally transform my bedroom with this eye-catching feature wall. I think the results really speak for themselves. I’m obsessed.
